Time Stands Still For No Man

A Catalogue of Love & Hope Week 1

A gift from my aunty, flown all the way from Italy…

Do you sometimes feel that time passes so fast with nothing much has been done? I do, most of the time…

When the clock struck the first day of Lunar Chinese New Year about a month ago, I felt that I just experienced the same day of a year before. The vivid memory of installing rabbit-themed wallpaper for my desktop (it is dragon year this year)…The vivid memory of watching Chinese-New-Year-themed movies…The vivid memory of pledging my resolutions…It felt like it just happened yesterday yet a year had gone by…

“Time stands still for no man”

With this speed of time, isn’t it the moment to step up and live your life to the fullest? Isn’t it the moment to live for your self? I understand that sometimes we could not ignore our responsibilities but change always start with a small step.

How to make that change?
  1. Meditation
If you feel lost or stuck, or don’t know your life purpose, kick start with 15-30 minutes meditation daily. Clear your mind and repeat this question in your mind, “What legacy do I want to leave behind?”

  1. Set life goals
When your mind is clear, start brainstorming on the goals for the 8 areas of life – spiritual, intelligence, emotional, physical, financial, career, family and community. Write down whatever that speeds across your mind.

  1. Visualize
With a set of goals on hand, it is time to visualize that you already achieved them. Perhaps, you can reminisce on how you achieved them. Take note on how you feel. The law of attraction as mentioned in The Secret by Rhonda Bryne reveals this creative process:
a.      Ask – clear about what you want and just ask once
b.      Believe – Believe that you’ve received and have faith
c.       Receive – Feel wonderful about it

  1. Take charge
Thinking & imagining itself won’t bring you anywhere. Thus, start taking charge of the change by implementing one goal (or two to three goals) at a time into your daily life. Give it a week or a month, depending on your level, to repeat the new action(s) until you’re doing it without effort (just like brushing your teeth). Once you’ve successfully in control, kick start another goal.

  1. Persistence
Success doesn’t come easily but all your hard work will pay off if you never quit when challenged by setbacks. Those setbacks are valuable lessons for your life, thus turn them into positive energy that drives you forward towards your goals. It is always easier to turn into the “bad guy” than the “good guy”, isn’t it? Thus, surround yourself with supportive environments and empowering messages. Setbacks upon setbacks will make you a stronger person if you hold on to your dream. Will you be able to feel the true spirit of happiness without enduring the pain?

  1. Evaluation
Upon the end of the time frame you’ve set, spend some time in evaluating your progress. Do you feel accomplished? Do you feel that you’re changing into a better person?

I’ve reached my current destination because I’ve took up the challenge of “change” and being persistence despite many setbacks. Believing in yourself is the first golden rule, that you’ll be learning your life’s most valuable lessons in just a short period of time. When you reach this moment, you’ll feel the need to inspire others…

Here’s a wonderful message on living your dream and sharing your passion:
